Life Sciences Translator Support


The purpose of this section is to provide support to translators who are or will be involved in Life Sciences translation projects. This section should help you understand the challenges and requirements involved, and enable you to deliver results in an efficient and reliable manner, in accordance with the quality and precision that our Life Sciences customers require. For this reason, the training is a mandatory step prior to being involved in Life Sciences translation projects.

Also, if you have successful experience in Life Sciences translation and would like to be considered for these types of projects with Lionbridge:

  1. Complete the Life Sciences questionnaire and upload it to your Lionbridge profile via "Documents" in the Profile menu.
  2. Select appropriate area(s) of expertise by clicking "Profile", then "Area of Expertise." You can then select "Health Care and Life Sciences" and select relevant segments and sub-segments such as "Clinical Trials and Research” > “Adverse events” and “Regulatory affairs, bodies and documents” > “Labelling & Packaging” etc.

Swissmedic translation projects

This training targets advanced linguists who:

  • Translate into French, Italian, German OR from these languages into English
  • Already have experience translating Life Sciences Regulatory content
  • Are familiar with Lionbridge Life Sciences EMA (European Medicines Agency) projects
  • Would like to expand their service offering to Swiss Regulatory projects and market

The training will take you through the following topics:

  • Summary of product characteristics (DE, FR, EN only for other markets or as a back translation)
  • Package leaflet (DE, FR, IT, EN only for other markets or as a back translation)
  • Market surveillance incl. (Direct) Health Professional Communication, batch recalls, specific topics, out-of-stock notifications (DE, FR, some in EN)
  • Labels (DE, FR, EN only for other markets or as a back translation)
  • Letters from Swissmedic to the pharma company (EN only)
